“School Play”
Test
Very well done, Heidi! A+

Part I.Drama critics write reviews of plays to give their opinion of a performance. In one paragraph, write a review of Robert's play for his school newspaper. Use your imagination to fill in the details, but include details from the story, too.

I really liked the "School Play". The reason why I like the play was because it was always funny when Belinda would say "Sucka" to Robert.
It was also good when Robert said his lines in a diffrent way because it was funny and it caught you off gaurd. But you could hardly tell that he had messed up the way he said the lines. I thought that the play was entertaing by the look of their costumes. Everything else in the play was really good.
I like the review you wrote because it really included lots of detail from the story. Good job!

2. What message or theme do you think the author is trying to get across in “The School Play”. Write at least two sentences, one to list the theme and one to explain how what happened in the story shows this theme.

The theme in the school play is that it is ok if you mess up. Something that happened in the school play is that a boy named Robert was practicing and practicing but, then he has a really lucky day so he doesn't practice the day before the play. So the day of the play came and it was Robert's turn to say his line. But instead of saying "nothings wrong I can see" he says "Wrong is nothing I can see". Then when he got off stage Mrs. Bunnin patted Robert's back and said "Almost perfect".

b. smirks

c. quiver

When Belinda says "Sucka" she quivers her nose.

Robert was relentless learning the lines for his part in the play.
